Empower. Enable. Accelerate: Reimagining the BPO Future of Work

Tech One Global Philippines and Microsoft presented a webinar entitled “Empower. Enable. Accelerate: Reimagining the BPO Future of Work” on December 9, 2021. This online session aims to:

  • Empower BPO companies to unleash their fullest potential and train the workforce today into what the BPO industry needs as the workforce of tomorrow.
  • Enable employee experience to boost overall productivity, promote talent attraction, encourage retention, and manage attrition.
  • Accelerate business transformation through delivery model modernization, analytics, and insights-driven platforms.

BPO companies in the Philippines joined the webinar, consisting of HR, IT, and Executives, with diverse industry speakers from Tech One Global, Microsoft, Enadoc, IBPAP, MiHCM, and Just Analytics.

Tech One Global Philippines Managing Director Lahiru Munindradasa opens the session with a Keynote speech emphasizing that working from home is here to stay and accelerating digital transformation is the key to thriving.

Lahiru also moderated the first half of the session with a Fireside Chat contemplating the BPO industry’s current situation, challenges, and solutions, starting with Ricky Salvador, Executive Director for External Affairs, and Investor Relations IBPAP (IT and Business Process Association of the Philippines). Ricky discussed BPO as an industry in resurgence, including global IT-BPM forecast and the forces driving the growth of the international services industry in 2021. He also elaborates on some workforce trends evolving in the Philippines

Elizabeth Pangan, Director for Small, Medium, and Corporate Business in Microsoft shared that the next significant disruption is hybrid work and gave seven trends every business leader needs to know together with critical points on hybrid work. Elizabeth also mentioned how technology front-liners like Microsoft help the BPO industry in the Philippines drive innovation.

Lars Jeppesen, CEO, and Co-founder of Tech One Global, followed the discussion who emphasized the importance of investing in technology platforms such as enterprise content management for BPO companies to stay ahead of the digital curve. He also gave some advice on how to drive digital dexterity initiatives.

MiHCM Founder and CEO Harsha Purasinghe gave his perspective on how the future of HR looks like to support the rapid evolution of the BPO industry in the Philippines.

Lastly, Nisha Sullia, Head of Solution Engineering of Just Analytics, considers how business intelligence can guide BPO leaders in decision making, including new trends in big data analytics in the BPO industry.

The second half of the session was with four breakout sessions on:

  • Automate and Digitize your Business Process with Enadoc
  • Sustain hybrid work set up, communication, learning resource, and insights with Microsoft
  • Engaging employee experience in the hybrid workforce with MiHCM
  • Data literacy through bright and focused utilization of data with Just Analytics.

  • Harsha Puransinghe – Founder / CEO and Nayanika Wijekoon – Marketing Manager of MiHCM

Lars Jeppesen, the CEO, and Co-founder of Tech One Global, concluded the event highlighting that the biggest asset of the BPO companies is their employees and that digital transformation plays a critical role in dealing with business challenges.

Most BPO companies were not expecting the events to unfold the way they did. With the COVID 19 crisis, we faced an unusual and dynamically changing situation. Businesses encounter new challenges, while regular tasks need to fulfill in totally different conditions. The company needs to adapt quickly to its customers and employee needs, responding swiftly. Empowering, enabling, and accelerating business today will reimagine the BPO workforce of tomorrow.
