Tech One Global Philippines and Microsoft organized a session at Holiday Inn and Suites Makati City Philippines, attended by small to medium businesses embarking on cloud migration.
Lahiru Munindradasa, Managing Director of Tech One Global Philippines, provided industry insights and emphasized the value of cloud migration. In his opening presentation, he encourages the attendees to take advantage of Microsoft Azure workshops designed for their needs and level of interest.
A fireside chat with Luis Barrera, Cloud Services Manager of Tech One Global Philippines, and James Gabriel de Castro, Territory Channel in SMB Azure of Microsoft, addressed questions and challenges on still being on-premises for data, processes, and operations. Luis and James also highlighted the benefits of migrating to the cloud regarding cost, scalability, improved performance, and other impacts on business operations. In the last part, the speakers shared cloud migration best practices and points to consider in having a cloud service provider.
Luis Barrera continued with the presentation of Microsoft Azure to further enumerate the benefits of cloud migration. “Many startups or small businesses thought using cloud computing platforms could be very expensive, but it’s a myth. According to Luis, there are services available that you can use for FREE or little cost when you start small”. Also, according to Luis, to maintain a competitive edge in the market, businesses should consider embracing modernization, security, scalability, and providing an excellent customer experience.
Luis’ presentation was followed by Umidu Silva, Applications Architect System Integration Manager – at Tech One Global Philippines, focusing on cloud app migration and modernization approaches to optimize cost, operate confidently, and innovate faster. In addition, Rijwan Ansari, Applications Delivery Manager – Tech One Global Philippines, added information on PaaS (Platform as a service) approach with end-to-end Azure serverless solutions.
